Art and culture are primary goods, necessities for our development and growth as citizens and part of a community. Through the analysis of two art projects developed by Irene Pittatore during the pandemic scenario, the lecture will describe how art can respond – even from a distance – to the need to keep track and share the transformation and fragilization our lives and work undergo, activating processes of change, encouraging inclusion and team building experiences within universities, NGOs, companies, social and health services.

Art projects:

– YOU AS ME / Flag [ online edition ], a participatory project based on performance and photography, capable of activating cross-sectional groups on the themes of inclusion and intercultural communication, starting from the sharing of personal/professional experiences and fabrics. Video-excerpts from the performances realized within Isabelle Demangeat’s course “Intercultural Competence: Cooperation and Leadership at a Distance” (FUBiS TermI II 2021 Online Course) and within the course for Intercultural Animators proposed by the Intercultural Centre of the City of Turin and ASAI, coordinated by Silvia Stefani.

– From a distance (Isolation Portraits), a visual and narrative project carried out online with webcams at different latitudes or a few blocks away. A collective constellation of discoveries arisen from the experience of living and working remotely. Video-excerpts from the portraits realized for Jeu de l’Oie – Festival des sciences sociales et des arts (Aix-Marseille Université and MUCEM).

Featuring:

Isabelle Demangeat – Philologist, consultant and coach for intercultural management Silvia Stefani – Anthropologist and social worker
