From the workshop Self-awareness through Photography by Irene Pittatore (Impasse) and the Professional Educator Erika Stefanelli (Progetto Habitat)
The photographic series Deepen dance – A fronte alta is the result of a workshop dedicated to perception and self-expression through the photographic portrait and educational interventions. Aimed at the 3D Socio-Rehabilitation Centre for Alcohology, Department for Addiction of the ASL Città di Torino, the workshop involved seven patients during the preparatory meetings at the Service’s venue and during a day of shooting at the Trecate swimming pool in Turin. The objective of the workshop was to promote personal care and reinforce the perception of one’s own abilities, in an articulated pathway dedicated to the senses.
The project resulted in the book The sense of beauty, published by Prinp Editoria d’Arte 2.0, and in the homonymous exhibition, both promoted by Impasse and Progetto Habitat and realised with the contribution of the ASL Città di Torino and KOS care s.r.l., in collaboration with the City of Turin and Opera Barolo.
