Workshops

Italian

Photography, words, and performance as agents of emancipation and aggregation, as decoys, objects of conversation, disciplines to be explored and forced, vectors of action from which to gather a poetic substance. Welcome to the 2024 workshops!

The workshops, aimed at cultural organizations, museums, festivals, universities, and companies, are also designed to support educational and social-health services.

I loved her too much and I shot her is a workshop/performance developed with trainer and coach Isabelle Demangeat. Excerpts from international court cases on domestic violence and femicide (dating back to 1848), printed on large fabrics with a cross-stitch font, serve as the foundation for a collective embroidery and an investigation into the current reality and widespread experience of gender-based violence. A shared action of awareness, imagination, and resistance to unjust, patriarchal cultural paradigms.

Breaking Archives – History of a Femicide is a workshop/performance developed with trainer and coach Isabelle Demangeat that explores the lasting impact of a crime through international judicial documents (from 1848), with a tribute to the feminist street collage movement.

From a distance is a photographic project carried out remotely. It offers a photoshoot for individuals, couples, colleagues, friends, and families living apart, with the aim of celebrating distant relationships or events that cannot be shared in person. Born during the lockdown months (COVID-19 isolation portraits), From a Distance explores the unexpected possibilities of photographic work in the absence of physical proximity and traditional shooting tools.

Hero/ines _ Everyday Heroes and Heroines is a workshop developed with Virginia Ruth Cerqua that encourages participants to connect with their own resources and abilities, promoting their imaginative empowerment, and creating spaces for storytelling and self-representation.

Future Portraits is a workshop aimed at creating portraits of teenage girls, inviting them to present to the camera (and to themselves) the woman they aspire to become.

YOU AS ME / In the Shoes of Others provides an opportunity to explore clothing as a social skin and the experience of relationships through the exchange of garments and perspectives.

YOU AS ME _ Flag is a workshop for adults and young people who wish to engage with the theme of hospitality through dialogue and performance.

Educating the Gaze, proposed in collaboration with Professional Educator Lucia Cavallo from Progetto Habitat, is designed for adults and young people who wish to develop their gaze through photographic experimentation.

Self-awareness through photography, developed with Professional Educator Erika Stefanelli from Progetto Habitat, is a workshop for adults and young people who wish to embark on a journey of self-exploration and self-expression through portrait photography. The workshop aims to promote self-care and strengthen participants’ perception of their own abilities.
